Practicing for over 30 years, Andrew Manitsky represents clients in state and federal courts, and other tribunals, throughout Vermont and New York.

 

Practice Areas

Mr. Manitsky handles a wide variety of complex civil matters, including breach of contract, general business disputes and negotiations, employment-related disputes, professional malpractice and attorney disciplinary matters, personal injury, scientific and research misconduct, regulatory investigations, antitrust, and product liability. 

 

He is equally well known for representing clients in intellectual property matters, litigating and counseling on trademark infringement, trademark registrations, license agreements, copyright disputes, and trade secrets matters.

Biography

​​

Mr. Manitsky is the immediate past President of the Vermont Bar Association, and is the Chair of the VBA’s Intellectual Property Section.  He is the current President of the New England Bar Association, and is one of the few Vermont elected members of the prestigious American Law Institute (ALI) -- which, for 100 years, has drafted and promulgated the Restatement of Laws upon which judges and practitioners in Vermont and across the county have routinely relied as helpful and persuasive legal authority.

Mr. Manitsky is also a member of Vermont's Professional Responsibility Program, and served as a member of the Probable Cause and Hearing Panels.  He is a member of the Early Neutral Evaluation (Mediation) Panel for the United States District Court in Vermont, a member of Vermont's Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Board, and helped draft the Vermont federal court civil jury instructions.  He frequently gives seminars to lawyers on trial evidence, intellectual property, legal ethics, and other important legal topics.


Since 2009, Mr. Manitsky has been listed in Best Lawyers in America, and is currently listed in five different categories, including commercial litigation and trademark law.  He has been named Burlington's "Lawyer of the Year" in Intellectual Property - Litigation four times.  Before moving to Vermont in 2000, Mr. Manitsky practiced at a boutique firm in New York City.
